 Physicians

University of Chicago neurologists are board certified or board eligible, and are faculty in the University of Chicago Biological Science Division.  In addition to their role as healers, these physicians actively teach future physicians at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.

University of Chicago physicians are actively involved in research, including fundamental research in the laboratory as well as clinical research with patients.  Ongoing research in immunology is helping medical professionals to understand the underlying mechanisms of neurological disease such as multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, Guillain-Barré syndrome, and polymyositis.

The pediatric neurology faculty is board certified in both pediatrics and neurology.

Medical and surgical residents and fellows — physicians who are in the midst of their post-graduate clinical training — work alongside the faculty physicians.

When appropriate, the neurologists call on the expertise of other University of Chicago physicians including neurosurgeons, oncologists or orthopaedic surgeons.
